5-Barrel Hinge Construction

Our frames feature premium 5-barrel nickel hinges inset directly into the frame for superior durability. This construction provides enhanced stability through multiple contact points where the frame front and temple arms connect, ensuring long-lasting performance and smooth operation.

Core Wire Technology

Each temple features a core wire allowing your opticians to customise the fit using gentle heat application to mould the acetate. This technology ensures your frames can be perfectly adjusted to your face shape while maintaining structural integrity and comfort.

Premium Hardware

The iconic SABEN pale gold hardware is crafted from gold-plated stainless steel, offering low-allergen properties for sensitive skin. This premium finish effortlessly pairs with both gold and silver jewellery while maintaining perfect continuity with our handbag collection.

Prescription Compatibility

All SABEN frames are constructed with optimal materials, design curves and lens depth to accommodate prescription lenses. However, every eye is unique - your individual prescription should be assessed by your optician to determine its suitability for SABEN frames.

Frame Sizing Explained

Frame Sizing Explained

The numbers on your frame's inner temple (e.g., 52-20-145) indicate:

  • 52 = Lens width in millimetres
  • 20 = Bridge width (distance between lenses)
  • 145 = Temple length (the ‘arm’ from hinge to end tip)

This standardised sizing helps ensure proper fit and makes replacement or additional purchases seamless.

CR39 Lens Technology

CR39 Lens Technology

Our Category 1, 2 & 3 CR39 lenses provide superior optical clarity and impact resistance compared to standard plastic or glass lenses. They are more durable to rough and tumble, if you drop them, they won’t smash. Plus, it keeps the weight down on the frame, making them more comfortable for long term wear.

  • Exceptional scratch resistance for long-lasting clarity
  • Lightweight comfort for all-day wear
  • Superior UV protection
  • Easy cleaning and maintenance

Lens Category Levels Explained

Lens Category Levels Explained

Sunglasses are classified by UV protection categories that indicate their light transmission levels:

  • Category 1: Blocks 20-57% of UV. A low-light fashion lens
  • Category 2: Medium protection; blocks 57-82% of UV rays and are typically lighter in colour than others, ideal for variable conditions.
  • Category 3: Block 82-92% of UV light, which makes these UV sunglasses an excellent choice for sun protection. These shades can be used in bright sunlight in the mountains or at the seaside.
  • Category 4: The highest category available, blocking 92-97% of UV rays to provide maximum protection. Sunglasses with lens category 4 are ideal for exceptionally bright settings, such as at high elevations or sea. However, it is important to note that they are unsuitable for driving.
